This tutorial created by Brad Knutson easily explains how to create a flash-like banner ad only with CSS. It goes through the steps of adding the HTML and the CSS, which essentially is tripled in amount because the author wanted to break each banner into it’s own CSS section. The animations are basic, with just elements like squares spinning within a frame, but it can be extended to a more complete animation with some additional CSS.
